Taming the Mom Guilt with Ergobaby Omni 360

There is something that has plagued me both times we’ve brought another baby into our family: mom guilt. We turned our little ones’ lives upside down when we brought them a new baby brother. I know postpartum hormones are mostly to blame, but not getting to devote as much time to my older two really does hurt this mama’s heart. This time around, I’m wearing my baby as much as I can so I can still spend time with my first and second “babies.” The Ergobaby Omni 360 is such a big help in our transition to a family of five!

I think baby wearing is the sweetest thing. Getting to keep that squishy little baby close, hearing those sweet baby sighs, and looking at the little sleeping face up close- ahh. I love sharing those moments with my sweet babies.  Both Miss H and Mr. E loved our Ergobaby Original baby carrier. But when baby #3 was on the way, I knew I wanted a new Ergobaby carrier that would be really comfortable, and allow me to safely carry my baby while taking care of my other children. I didn’t even think about looking into another brand- I knew it HAD to be an Ergobaby!

Upgrading to the Ergobaby Omni 360

The ability for Baby Three to safely face forward (starting at 6 months old) will be so helpful while chasing my other two around! With as much as I carry my babies in a carrier, I need it to be super comfortable so I’m not left with an achy back and shoulders. The waist strap is much thicker and more supportive than my Ergobaby Original. There’s even a little “fanny pack” type pocket on the waist belt; perfect for pacifiers and car keys!

What I noticed immediately when I go the carrier is how sturdy it looked. Comparing it to my original Ergobaby, there is a lot more stitching and padding inside to support the baby. There’s a Velcro setting inside the carrier that adapts to Baby’s size. These added details make it possible to put a newborn baby right in the carrier without an infant insert. When  E was a newborn, putting him in the little cocoon of the infant insert before getting him secured in the Ergobaby was sometimes a challenge. Being able to put Baby Three right in the carrier will be a huge help!

Taming the Mom Guilt

After 5 days of postpartum recovery, my mom guilt was piled up high. My kids missed me, and I missed them! I so desperately wanted to get off that couch and buckle up my nursing bra to play with them!! It was a beautiful fall day, so the kids headed outside to jump in leaf piles. I adjusted all the settings on my Ergobaby Omni 360, and put Baby Three in it. He’s my littlest baby, so I was  nervous that his legs would be stretched too far since there isn’t an infant insert. But after adapting the inside Velcro setting to the narrowest spot, it fit his 7 pounds perfectly. After days of feeling like I missed out on life with my other two, Baby Three and I joined in on the fun. He fell asleep almost immediately all snug beside me while I interacted with the big kids. He was safe and secure, although he got showered with a spray of leaves a couple of times! I should have used the rain hood, but, baby brain!

We played outside for about an hour, and Baby Three and I were both still so comfortable. It was time to go in for snacks, though.  He complained when I got him out to feed him! Getting to be with all of my little ones at the same time gave me a glimmer of hope that our transition to three children is not going to be as dreadful as I had feared!

Celebrating a Birthday!

About a week after Baby Three was born, E turned two. I really wanted to celebrate our sweet big guy, but I wasn’t

sure a party would be possible with a newborn. You don’t want to know what kind of shape my house is in these days! Our solution? A Chick-fil-a party. We just had a few friends join us for chicken nuggets and some fun in the indoor playground. I got to enjoy my first son’s birthday while keeping my second son close to me. In the past, I’ve been so nervous to take newborns out in public. I think I made it two weeks with my first baby, and about 2 days with my second 🙂 But there’s no way I was going to miss out on my second-born’s birthday! Wearing Baby Three let me keep him close and protected from all those germs floating around.

I tried not to be on my feet too much, because I was about a week postpartum. But with Baby There in my carrier, my hands were free and I gave the birthday boy the attention he deserved!

Quality is an area that I feel strongly about. I would rather buy something well-made that’s a little more expensive than something that won’t work right or will break right away. This carrier will last for years, just in case we should decide to add a baby #4. (Just joking, honey!) You can get 10% off using this promo code jo8KbuYBBM through this link.

I wish I’d splurged and gotten an ergobaby instead of wasting time, money and frustration using a different carrier that I hated. I got one off CL when my daughter was around 9 months old and even though she’s almost 18 months old we still use it if we go on hikes. Love my ergobaby!

This is a great review! I have a feeling I’ll be wearing our second a lot more than I did with our first!

I haven’t actually tried one, that I can remember, but I am expecting my 3rd baby as well, so a SSC would come in really handy!

I love that the baby can also safely face forward from 6 months plus.

We are planning for #3 and I love the idea of baby wearing. I didn’t do it with my first 2 but I feel like I will need to with the last one.

Ergo is the most comfy carrier I’ve used!

We have the older version but ERGOBABY is simply the best. So handy & love that weight limit is a lot.

Ergobaby was my first buckle carrier!! I loved it till my babe got to be too big for it! So soft and easy to fold to put away for storage!

My first year homeschooling and I’m about to have my third baby. This would be amazing!!!

An Ergobaby will be so helpful for homeschooling! That is my plan, too!

I was JUST talking to other moms about this because I remember preferring my daughter in the front but she got too big. Now I’m pregnant again and other moms recommended this. Awesome!

Wearing my third makes life so much easier! I still have one hand for each of the older ones!

  • Sarah G November 3, 2017 at 8:25 pm

I am worred about the transition to 2, so it is reassuring that it can be done with 3! Fingers crossed for success with two, added by a new Eego carrier!
